Blue Christmas Service

For some of us, it's hard to experience the joy of Christmas. Whether this is your first Christmas alone or you're struggling with major life changes, the Christmas season can exacerbate our stress and grief. The Blue Christmas Service will take place on Wednesday, December 16, at 6:30 PM in the Chapel. At this service we will invite God to meet us where we are and minister to each of us according to our needs. All are welcome to attend.

Don't Miss the 2015 Children's Christmas Pageant!

Come one, come all to see the 2015 Children's Christmas Pageant on Sunday, December 20 at 4:00 pm in the Sanctuary.
There will be a reception in The Welcome Center following the event.

Share Advent with a Friend, Neighbor, or Coworker!

Advent is an important season for us. Amidst the chaos and confusion in our world, we take time to be still, be quiet, and wait for Jesus.  We remember that there is hope - hope for the world and hope for us all.
Use the "Heaven Breaking Out" Advent cards (inserted in last week's bulletins and continually available in the Welcome Center) to invite a friend, neighbor, or coworker to experience Advent with you at Trinity this season. This year rediscover the joy of Advent and Christmas, and don't miss this opportunity to share that joy with those around you!  Learn More

Inclement Weather Information

As we approach the winter season we prepare for the possibility of snow and ice. To learn if the building is closed due to inclement weather, call 288-6057, then dial 4 for more options, and dial 4 again for the Inclement Weather message. We encourage everyone to be safe.

Young at Heart: Christmas Gathering

Thursday, December 17 2 – 3:30 PM
Come join us as we celebrate the season! We will gather in the Welcome Center at 2 PM for fellowship and refreshments, then we will move into the sanctuary to hear a Christmas story by Rev. Doug Hill. We will have a Christmas song sing-a-long to end our festive program. We are
asking that people bring their favorite Christmas treat/cookie to share.

Techies Needed

We are looking for volunteers to learn the basic operation of the sound and media systems in the Sanctuary and Trinity Hall. This also would include the ability to work with presenters prior to an event that requires technology. If you are interested, contact Bill Pike, 288-6056, Ext 211 or e-mail: bpike@trinityumc.net.

Join us from 5:30 - 6:30 PM for Wednesday Fellowship Night.  Dinner is served after our Children’s Choirs practice, and before our Trinity Choir and Praise Team practice. Some of our committees and Bible studies also meet after 6:30 PM.

Town Hall Meeting Recap

Our Town Hall Meeting on November 1 focused on how to reach new people.  See the attached presentation by Teresa Given, Lay Leader.

First Sunday Food Drive

The Sherbourne UMC Food Pantry is an intake and distribution center for the Central Virginia FoodBank.  Bring donations of non-perishable food items to help those in our community.  We continue to also collect paper bags, plastic bags, and clean egg cartons in Missions Central.  Donations can be brought to Missions Central (near the church offices) anytime, but we especially focus on this ministry the 1st Sunday of each month when we have Communion in our Worship services.

GREAT news about Sherbourne!  Our Mission is Growing!

The Sherbourne Pantry has been renovated and passed inspection by Feedmore. Trinity has a new team in place to raise awareness, manage and transport our collection of food to Sherbourne.  Contact Karen Adams if you wish to help. Trinity has made a connection with Shalom Farms to once a month, in season, distribute FRESH VEGETABLES to Sherbourne.  In August the beautiful produce included crates of tomatoes, squash, cucumbers, potatoes and peppers.

Do you have News and Information to share? If so, please contact Kim Tingler (ktingler@trinityumc.net) with that information.
