Leadership

Trinity UMC relies heavily on lay leadership involvement. Our church's governing body is the Church Council.

 

The Church Council is made up of the following committees.

 

Connect Committee

Connect ministries at Trinity include worship, music, hospitality, and evangelism.
Grow Committee

Grow ministries at Trinity include children, youth, Sunday School, small groups, Wednesday Fellowship Night, and all other educational opportunities.

 

Serve Committee

Serve ministries focus on serving in missions outside of our church walls. We celebrate the fact that we serve locally, domestically, and internationally.

 

Trustees

The Trustees are charged with overseeing taking care of the church's property and maintenance needs.

 

Staff/Pastor Parish Relations Committee

The Staff/Pastor Parish Relations Committee acts as a liaison between the congregation and its staff and clergy. The committee sets employment policy, oversees the staff benefits and other employment related needs.

 

Finance Committee

The Finance Committee oversees the finances of the church, reviews the annual audit, provides financial direction, and communicates the church’s financial status to the Church Council. Each year they put together the church's budget and with the help of the Stewardship Committee hold an annual stewardship campaign.

 

Delegates to Virginia Annual Conference

Lay Delegates representing our church, along with our pastors, at legislative sessions of the Virgnia Annual Conference. During the annual meeting, a variety of proposals are considered on issues and policies that will have impact on United Methodist churches across Virginia.
